About Fiordland National Park

Fiordland is the largest national park in New Zealand and a cornerstone of the Te Wāhipounamu UNESCO site. Glacier-carved fiords plunge straight from snow-capped peaks into the Tasman Sea, with Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound the most famous. The park preserves vast tracts of temperate rainforest, home to native birds including the takahē and kea. The Milford Track is widely regarded as one of the world's finest multi-day hikes.
